The Hellenic-Swedish Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the 11th edition of the Business Forum Greece-Sweden, a high-level meeting point for senior officials, business leaders, policy makers, and technology and innovation experts from Greece and Sweden, taking place on 25 September, at Olympia Hall – Divani Caravel Hotel/Athens, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden.
We are living through an era defined by structural realignments in global trade, accelerating technological disruption and renewed geopolitical fragmentation. The boundaries between economic policy, industrial strategy and strategic autonomy are increasingly dissolving, and Europe finds itself at a pivotal moment — one where competitiveness is no longer determined solely by scale or efficiency, but by the ability to integrate innovation, security, sustainability and financial depth into a coherent long-term vision.
Within this framework, Greece and Sweden exemplify how two economies, each shaped by different geographies and priorities, can align around a shared imperative: turning partnership into industrial capability, investment flows and future-ready ecosystems.
This year's Forum is structured around five central themes:
Capital Markets & Banking: the evolving architecture of European financial stability, and the mechanisms required to channel capital toward productive, long-term investment.
Defence, Security & Dual-Use Innovation: how defence and dual-use technologies are becoming catalysts for industrial transformation and strategic capability, viewed through the lens of Greece–Sweden cooperation.
Energy, Infrastructure & Industrial Transition: the reinvention of industrial value chains and energy systems as security, competitiveness and decarbonization converge.
AI, Digitalisation & Productivity: how digital intelligence and automation are reshaping productivity, service industries and institutional agility.
Swedish Design, Innovation & Sustainability: Beyond aesthetics, Swedish design functions as a driver of engineering efficiency, product durability, and manufacturing productivity; principles reflected in sectors ranging from automotive and industrial components to consumer goods and hospitality.
Confirmed speakers include Kostas Hatzidakis, Vice President of the Government; Stefan Ingves, former Governor of Sveriges Riksbank; Yiannis Stournaras, Governor of the Bank of Greece; Major General Mikael Frisell, Director General of the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency; Mikael Bäck, Vice President and Corporate Officer at Ericsson, Dr. Thanos Dokos; Secretary General for National Security, Michalis Katrinis; Party’s Parliamentary Head for National Defense— among a wider group of senior policymakers and industry leaders from both countries
The Forum concludes with a Standing Networking Reception, offering space for meaningful exchange and the kind of conversations that shape what comes next.
This is not simply an event; it is where policy, capital and industry sit at the same table, and where access means proximity to the decisions being made, not just attendance at where they're announced.
